Amish Country - Who Knew?

Today was our best day of the ride, beautiful cool weather, forgiving roads, and Lancaster, Penna.
It was a day of farmlands, barns, silos, and the Amish quite a change from the big city complications not only stop lights and pedestrians, but fresh air and wide lines to ride.

We rode a total of 66 miles starting off with the landry and breakfast a about 8 am.  Mike and I wore our Medtronics jerseys so that the pictures could be used to help convince them that it might be a good idea to sponsor us cross country..but I digress

John found the car of his dreams outside of Philadephia, it was the right color!

We rode thru small town after small town including Brandywine, Elk, Rising Sun, and Downing Town for lunch.

The Amish ride the roads with horse and buggy, it is really quite amazing that they maintain their way of life in what seems to be  oblivious to our world which moves with increasing speed

Along the Lower Valley Road, I stopped for a photo opportnity included below which reminded be of a Bee  Gees song:

I started a joke
That started the whole world laughing
Oh if I'd only seen
That the joke, was on me!

See if you can pick it out?!?

Had to stop at Zoe's kitchen for a bowl of soup...one of my daughter's name is Zoe...sorry Alex...still looking for Alex's  Shoe Shop

We ended the day at the camp ground, for our first night under the stars.
It's  cold
