In the 1st inning..God made Heaven and Earth

In the 2nd inning God made the bicycle
In the 3rd inning God made the uphills three times longer than the downhill.  UGH!

Why? So cyclists wouldn't over run the planet
No doubt, and the promise that all roads would be downhill in heaven predispose cyclists to be some really nice people while car drivers have road rage.

We broke camp and headed across the susquahana river.  We were to ride 70 miles for the day' ending with a trip total of 501 miles!  Oh but the hills...at 25 miles we were exhausted...and slow.

Total elevation for the day was 4400 ft and unlike yesterrday, the headwinds returned.

Depressed,we did the only logical thing.. we stopped for ice cream and hot dogs to regroup.

We came upon another rail to trail, the North Central RR trail that saved our assets....for an effortless 15 miles...the temperature dropped...

We cruised into North Baltimore only to find all the hotel rooms booked for tomorrows Preakness Stakes.  At 5:30pm we sat frantically in a McDonalds looking for a cheap hotel.  If Mike and I are anything, we are cheap.

We raced to a Howard Johnson's, 13 miles away as the lights went out.
